A Literature Review on Hydrotherapy

Abstract
PURPOSE :The purpose of this study was to examine hydrotherapy techniques and interventions according to diseases through previous studies.

METHOD : From April 2019 to June 2019, we reviewed the literature based on various domestic and journals and experimental papers. a paper on underwater physiotherapy was searched through RISS, DBpia.

DISCUSSION & CONCLUSION : The results of this study are as follows. 1. The Halliwick Method and the Bad Ragaz Ring Method were applied to patients with stroke, and they were effective in balance, walking, strength, FIM, FVC, and FEV1. 2. The Watsu method was applied mainly to patients with cerebral palsy, and it was effective in muscle tension, balance, and motion. 3. Osteoarthritis patients were mainly underwater complex exercise program, and they were effective in pain, balance, and physical fitness. 4. The Ai-Chi technique and the aquarobic exercise were applied to the obese patients and the weight, body mass index, body fat percentage, HDL-C and LDL-C were effective. In conclusion, it can be seen that hydrotherapy resulted in positive effects in various patients through appropriate conditioning and treatment in water.
